Something good to hold on to

Book cover, originally uploaded by soja.

This is covering a plain old A5 spiral bound notebook that I use for lesson notes at school. I use it all day, everyday and wanted something peaceful to look at at work.

I made this from linen and a scrap of printed cotton from Ikea following a tutorial kindly provided by Bloom at:
bloomandblossom.blogspot.com/2009/02/journal-cover-tutorial.htm

I had to fold over a little more of the cover to get it to fit, and I added a tab of fabric to the inside back cover to attach a pen to.

Now I want to cover all my notebooks books like this!

Pretty. I wish I had the patience for this sort of work.

Oooh, it's lovely Soja! Very beautifully made. The Ikea fabric is just perfect with the linen. Love it!

Thanks!

It doesn't take much patience, least it doesn't if you don't have to unpick and resew anything....

Ha ha, this fabric is taking over.... thanks for listing the project on you blog! :-)

Thanks for the clear tutorial, your blog and creations are beautiful - really inspiring. I'm sure I'll make more of these and some with a pieced strip - my students have been admiring it! :-)
That is lovely! Perfect to inspire schoolwork!
