A Winter's Tale - Open Air Shakespeare

Another brilliant performance by the Changeling Theatre, it is always a great evening and something to look forward to every summer when they come to Medway. This year was no exception, a young cast, and just ten actors, very little in the way of props and scenery and just excellent. They managed to insert a little comedy into quite a dark play and performed with gusto, professionalism and confidence. There was Kraftwerk and Abba thrown into the mix too. Outdoor theatre just seems to work so well for Shakespeare, the audience are part of the cast, it feels like that is the way it was intended. Drinking and tucking into a picnic helps to keep the spirits up and the cold at bay.

Rochester Castle Gardens can provide a rather windy stage, thankfully this year there was no rain. The audience seemed to have grown a little -  hopefully the Changeling Theatre will continue to include Medway venues on their summer tour.
