Spent the day examining and pulling apart mens and boys shirts to look at the construction and seam finishes - conclusion? Mens' clothes seems to be finished to a higher quality than womans. The bright shirt in the foreground is new and for my nephew, the others were all thrifted and will soon be up-cycled into new shirts for boys. I love to sew, but all the new resources for a project worry me, by buying from a charity shop I can reuse materials, support the charity and sew with a clear conscience. Do you up-cycle? What items or projects do you think work well for this?
